Peter Bock
After his studies in medicine at Vienna and Strasbourg Universities, Peter worked for a year at the district Hospital in Oberndorf near Salzburg. In 2000, he moved on to Kantonsspital Basle, where he started his specialisation as an orthopaedist. After a year in Basle he returned to Vienna where he is now pursuing his specialisation at the SMZ Ost.

Cilgia Caratsch
Cilgia spent part of her childhood in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. She studied Arts in Vienna and Berlin and wrote a substantial treatise on the lining of the coronation cloak of Roger II of Sicily (12th century). Since 1994, she has been assisting in the annual Vienna Film Festival Viennale . In 2001, she realised her first own film, a documentary about cinema in Africa today and the 17th Pan-African Film Festival in Ouagadougou (FESPACO).

Rafael Caratsch
Like his sister Cilgia, Rafael spent part of his childhood in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. After several years in Vienna and Budapest, he is now living in Geneva and works in the publications department of the World Intellectual Property Rights Organisation. Since his childhood, Rafael has been very interested and gifted in literature - he therefore oversees the editing of our French language pages.
Helge Fahrnberger
Helge spent part of his childhood in Lagos, Nigeria. After finishing school in Vienna he spent several years as independent Media Consultant in Vienna and internationally, among others for Radio Energy and the Internet Portal surfEU. After 3 years as head of product development of the international youth web-portal uboot.com he now works as self-employed consultant in Vienna and Munich. In December 2000, Helge organised the transfer of our car to Burkina Faso - the 4WD vehicle now serves a a mobile workshop for wheelchairs.

Irmgard Fortis
After her medical studies in Vienna, Irmi worked in General Medical Practice for a year. She then moved to Oberndorf near Salzburg where she worked at the District Hospital for two years. She has recently returned to Vienna and is currently completing her formation as a General Practitioner.

Nikolaus Gunzer
Nikolaus studied Agronomics and Hydroengineering at the Vienna University for Agriculture. As a result of his degree specialisation he soon started to become interested in development cooperateion, leading to a 6-months research project in Kenya. The results of this projects were published as his thesis: "Evaluation of water-pans in Njoro, Kenya".

Hannes Hartmann
Hannes is, among others, a learned carpenter and furniture maker and studied stage and costume design at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Since 1999, he has been working as a stage designer around German speaking Europe, among others at the Burgtheater in Vienna and the German Opera in Berlin. Increasingly, Hannes works as an independent stage designer, for example recently in Landshut and Reutlingen, Germany

Caroline Hutter
Caroline read Medicine at Vienna University and for a few terms studied the Organ at the Vienna Conservatory. During her studies she started working as a scientific researcher at the Institute for Pharmacology and spent several months in England. After graduation in Vienna, she moved to London and worked at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, where she did a PhD in Biochemistry, investigating the origins of skin cancer. Currently, she works at the Vienna Institute for Molecular Pathology in the Research Group of Meinrad Busslinger.

Ernst Kriehuber
Ernst studied Medicine in Vienna. During his studies, he spent an entire year as a researcher at University of California, San Francisco. After graduation, he started research work at the Department of Dermatology of the Vienna University Hospital, where he is also pursuing his specialisation in Immunology.

Nikolaus Spieckermann
Beppo read Business in Vienna and Strasbourg as well as Political Economy at the London School of Economics, where he specialised in Health Economics and Development Management. After graduation, he did his national Service in London, and worked for an international consulting firm. He is currently working for the Venture Capital Fund gamma capital partners.

Martina Zach
Martina studied German Philology and Theater Sciences in Vienna. 1998 she qualified as a tutor for self-studies and e- learning. Since 1999 she is working for the Department of Adult Education of the Austrian Ministry of Education, Science and Culture as reader and editor for self study materials. Moreover, she is interested in photograhy and playing member and president of the Volleyball Association "Internetz Vienna". She has a daughter (born 1994) and a son (born 2001).
